The six pillars of health invite the first steps towards your intentional healing revolution. They recognize the wisdom of your body and invite you to create a healing plan that reflects your needs. They invite you to tune in and teach you how to heal.
My healing revolution started when I was at my sickest. I worried constantly about symptoms, I burned through different therapies, I took remedy after remedy, did detoxes and cleanses. I cut out sugar for months and I lived my life grasping at solutions outside of myself.
None of it fostered health because I was in an unhealthy relationship, had no social supports, hated my job, and really had no idea who I was. I was building on unstable ground, trying to fix a tsunami with duct tape.
But I didn’t have the capacity to see that, so I stayed sick and distracted. I tried to "fix" the symptoms to give myself a sense of control - but nothing changed until I got back to my foundation.
It is so easy to get lost in magic pills when you are struggling. You desperately want to feel better, but you don't know how. So when someone offers you quick and easy solution, you jump. You may get relief for a bit, but symptoms seem to always come back or you find yourself living a life of restriction.
You're grasping at solutions, you have no clue what’s helping, completely at a loss for what’s actually wrong. You have appointment fatigue, cupboards full of supplements and you're losing hope.
The six pillars of health invite you to rewrite this story by going back to your foundation and building your health from the ground up. Explore the questions below to get a glimpse into what that looks like.
Foundational Needs: How do you support your four bodies (Physical, Emotional, Mental, Spiritual) on a daily basis?
Natural Expression of Symptoms: Are you supporting the natural expression of your symptoms? Where are you suppressing?
Messages of the Mind Body Connection: What is your mind telling you through your body?
Community Foundations: How supported do you feel by your community and relationships?
External Support Systems: Are you getting what you need from your practitioners? Are your expectations aligned?
Future Self: How do you want to feel? How can you live that now?
These questions are the core of each pillar and invite you to reflect on the aspects that influence your health. By leaning into this framework, you will foster a new level of awareness within your body so that you can collaborate with yourself to foster health.
This foundation also sets you up to advocate for your needs in healthcare settings and to create a healing plan that reflects you as an individual. It eliminates the appointment fatigue because you are grounded in your body every step of the way. You know what's helping, you know your expectations, and you choose each practitioner intentionally.
The How to Heal framework is all about getting you back into your power. It’s about self-awareness, symptom expression, the mind body connection, building health from the ground up and creating an intentional, conscious healing plan the reflects your needs.
If you're doing everything right and still coming up short, maybe it's time to go a little deeper.
